Portraits of Us is a multidisciplinary performance and installation combining movement, video, photography, text to create an immersive, gallery-like environment. At its core, the piece explores how mental health is experienced, hidden, and communicated.
It delves into the emotional and physical challenges related to mental illness and questions the seemingly simple everyday phrase, “How are you?”. The work invites the audience to look beyond automatic responses, to sense their own inner states, and to experience the artistic space as a place for vulnerability.
Through this intimate yet collective portrait, a dialogue emerges between performers and audience, reflecting on what we reveal, what we conceal, and how we encounter ourselves through others.
